I hope everything’s going well for you all. I was wanting to get this post to you sooner but this week has been a ‘whirlwind’ of activity for me, so why don’t we ‘dive right in’. Today I want to clarify something we ‘touched on’ last week…specifically, how confidence can “kill” even the best romantic pickup lines. Yes, it can be “a killer! And, “Yes”, it  can actually destroy the best flirty pick up lines and even your sweetest romantic pick up lines !!

Here’s How?

But first, a little bit of ‘common sense’…

Most women are attracted to a guy who is ’sure’ of himself. A man who radiates a ‘quiet confidence’. Someone who carries himself with a ‘quiet certainty. It’s fair to say that confidence is an extremely powerful aphrodisiac BUT it is also fair to say that ‘over confidence’ can be a real ‘turn off’.

This is certainly something we all need to keep in mind, particularly in the ‘dating world’. Most courses that deal with the ‘dating topic’  promote the importance of confidence, and rightly so, but only afew of them touch upon the ‘danger of being too confident’ or too brash!.

“Let me Explain”.

From my observation and from talking to many women there seems to be 2 main areas where over confidence can “kill” even the best romantic pickup lines.

Scenario 1: Are You Guilty of This?

The first, really ‘boils down’ to poor choice of pick up line and a particular behavior that often seems to accompanies it. What I’m talking about here is the use of ’sleazy’ pickup lines or even flirty pick up lines that are overflowing with too much innuendo.

Now, I’m sure most of us would say, “No problem, I’d never do that”, but alot of us have probably been guilty of this without even realizing it.

Typically, this occurs in clubs when a few drinks are flowing, and the ‘boys’ are out in a large group. After a bit of encouragement and ‘back slapping’ from their mates one or two guys will often approach a group of women and ‘rattle off’ the latest pick up line they’ve heard. And that’s the danger, because as guys, we’re often guilty of remembering pick up lines that we shouldn’t!!

Then, to compound the ‘problem’, the guys behavior can often be over powering, too pushy & too brash. It is however, worthwhile to note, that being too pushy and suggestive is more likely to occurs when more than one guy approaches the girls. When a guy approaches a group of girls by himself, fortunately, this doesn’t seem to be such a problem.

Scenario 2: …or..Maybe You’re Guilty of This?

The second instance where ‘over confidence’ can kill even the sweetest pick up line tends to occur about 5-10 minutes into the conversation. I say this because generally the 1st five minutes tends to be a bit of  a ‘feeling out’ process where most guys ask ‘what they’re up to’, followed by a bit of light banter.

It’s after this, that things can go a little ‘pear shaped’. We’re now more relaxed, and often the next step is to try and get to know the lady a little better. And this is where things can go ‘horribly wrong’ because, although we want her to be the focus of conversation, a lot of guys very quickly start talking about themselves….obsessively!

Sometimes the reason for this is because the guy is, quite genuinely, self-absorbed BUT this is pretty rare.  Usually the real reason is because they don’t really know what to do or say. But, be warned… if you do find yourself falling into this trap your initial confidence can very quickly grow to be seen as arrogance.

“Guys….these 2 scenario’s are something we need to be aware of…. Over confidence, or arrogance, (there’s often a fine line, isn’t there!)  can ‘kill’ even the best romantic pick up line.

The good news is, that these 2 situations are very easy to change…..You can stop confidence ‘killing’ even the sweetest pick up lines if you know what to do and what to say to women….
